VIENNA, VA (September 4, 2025) – The Retail & Hospitality Information Sharing and Analysis Center (RH-ISAC) convened leaders from across the retail and hospitality sectors on 27 August 2025 for the Fraud Defense Forum, hosted at Target’s office in Minneapolis. The event brought together some of the world’s largest retailers to strengthen collective efforts in combating fraud, one of the industry’s most persistent challenges.
The forum guided participants through the end-to-end intelligence sharing process, from identifying actionable information to effectively disseminating insights across organizations. Attendees explored how to break down silos that often prevent timely fraud intelligence sharing and emphasized the importance of regular updates, storytelling, and cross-functional collaboration in building stronger defenses.
Key discussions also addressed legal considerations, the role of CISOs in fostering supportive leadership, and guidance for engaging teams across an enterprise. Members highlighted the need for standardized templates to improve consistency in fraud reporting and acknowledged the benefits of both in-person and virtual collaboration.
“Fraud prevention is most effective when we work together,” said Suzie Squier, president of RH-ISAC. “Events like the Fraud Defense Forum provide a trusted space for our members to share real-world experiences and develop practical solutions that no single organization could achieve on its own.”
A significant outcome of the event was outlining plans to create a Fraud Intelligence Sharing Playbook, which will serve as a guide for the industry on how to collect, analyze, and share intelligence more effectively. The playbook, currently in development, will incorporate insights from the forum and provide a structured framework for enhancing fraud defense across the sector.
The Fraud Defense Forum underscored RH-ISAC’s leadership in fostering collaboration, advancing intelligence sharing, and shaping the future of fraud prevention strategies for the retail and hospitality community.
