Diane Brown, senior director of IT risk management and CISO at Ulta Beauty, will be leading a breakout session at the upcoming Retail Cyber Intelligence Summit taking place September 24-25, 2019 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Denver, Colorado.
When Ulta Beauty scored a 3 out of 5 on a cyber risk assessment, the board asked Diane what it would take to be better. Diane answered that question and was given the funding and the charge to just that. During the last 18 months, Diane’s team has evolved through two internal team mergers, increased their staffing from 9 to 30 and began shifting from a reactive to active team by leveraging resources and demonstrating proactive value across the business.
Diane’s breakout session called “Ask and You Shall Receive: Ulta Beauty’s Journey to CTI” will address the journey, effective approaches to implementation, and what it means to get what you ask for. She will share how her team has operationalized processes and focused staff on particular areas including data assessment, third-party risk, data protection, and network and monitoring. Through these process and cultural changes, the business now sees cybersecurity as advocates and educators, and their execution and results are felt across the board.
The Retail Cyber Intelligence Summit is tailored for strategic leaders and cybersecurity practitioners from both physical and online retailers, gaming properties, grocers, hotels, restaurants, consumer product manufacturers and cybersecurity industry partners.
